We were delighted to be apart of the Youth Group Project in Rotorua, getting gardens into whānau, early childhood and school environments.
Our garden was erected with the help of volunteers. Makeo and the children planted out the garden with all seedlings of vegetables. The vegetables grew and grew and grew! Ali-Jackson and myself were having a discussion about how the vegetables had grown so big, and that they were ready for harvesting. He asked me "could I take some home for my tea", I replied "yes, of course, what a delicious vegetable to have with your dinner".
Ali-Jackson's Mum arrived to pick him up and he took her straight to the garden. He chose which cabbage he wanted and Mum helped him harvest it from the garden.
