Tamariki at Central Kids Taumarunui Early Learning Centre had a lovely morning making links with our community and some furry friends at the local Alpaca Farm.
The learning outcomes for the children included extending their knowledge and language, learning about different places within their local community and developing confidence in a new setting and environment.
This excursion was a wonderful experience to learn more about alpacas, and an opportunity to be ‘hands on’ by feeding the alpacas with our own individual container as well as taking them for a little stroll. It was also an unfamiliar experience for some of our tamariki having their first encounter with these beautiful animals, however everyone coped very well and it was an enjoyable morning had by all.
Thank you to our whānau members who came along to experience this day too.
