Tamariki and kaiako of Ngā Kākano o Apumoana (Central Kids Elstree Kindergarten’s marae programme) have recommenced weekly visits to Apumoana Marae after the events of COVID-19 and the rāhui.

We have spent the last few visits reconnecting with Papa Bob and the pā environment.  Papa Bob welcomed us back with a beautiful mihi in the tūpuna whare, acknowledging the past year and the more recent pandemic which kept us apart and put a stop to our visits.

Our tamariki were very excited to return to their special place and spent the mornings visiting Kaumatua, practicing their waiata, pepeha and replanting the māra kai.
