Kia ora, my name is Shaira and I am a Mother of two, Harmony and Thomas.

I am excited to join Central Kids Northwood, as a full time teacher. I am very humbled and thankful for the opportunity.

My teaching practices demonstrate a peaceful/rangimārie, respectful and empowering approach for tamariki, whānau and colleagues. Professionally I have a strong cultural awareness and deep appreciation for te reo Māori and tikanga practices. My te reo Māori and bi-cultural commitment journey is part of who I am as a teacher.

Doing things I enjoy such as fitness, team sports, nature walks and surrounding myself with whānau and friends is an essential part of keeping my wairua, hinengaro and tinana enriched and inspired.

I have lived in Heretaunga for 12 years and I am ready for something new and fresh. Embracing change can have it’s challenges but through change we grow and learn. I look forward to working with the team at Northwood and meeting you all.
