Kia ora my name is Karen Nicholl
I am married and have five children, six grandchildren and have been living in Putaruru for over 38 years.
I have now been teaching for just over 17 years and the last four of them have been spent at Central Kids Fordlands in Rotorua.
I am looking forward to coming back to Putaruru and taking up the teaching position at Central Kids Charles. It will be lovely being able to walk to work and catch up with the whānau from our Charles Kindergarten community.
I have a real passion for teaching from the heart. Developing mindfulness, through kindness, empathy and building tamariki's social and emotional awareness. I am also passionate about where our tamariki come from and what they bring with them when they come through the gate each morning. Supporting our tamariki's language, culture and identity.
I am excited to start building those strong relationships with the tamariki, parents, whānau and the lovely kaiako of Charles Kindergarten.
I look forward to meeting you all in the next few weeks. Please don't hesitate to come and find me for a chat. See you soon.
Ngā mihi nui
Karen Nicholl
