Connecting with Papatūānuku at Golden Sands

Connecting with Papatūānuku at Golden Sands

At Central Kids Golden Sands Early Learning Centre in Papamoa, the tamariki in the under 2’s area have been using all of their senses to connect with Papatūānuku.

Everyday, the tamariki have the opportunity to hear the birds chirping, feel the grass on their toes, see new flowers opening up, watch insects crawl over leaves, smell the scent of fragrant herbs, and are patiently waiting for the blueberries to ripen for a taste.

During this sensory exploration, ngā tamariki are making sense of the natural world and developing a meaningful connection with the whenua.
