The removal of a huge oak tree at Central Kids Laughton in Taupō has created an exciting opportunity to redesign the kindergarten playground.
While the kaiako have been busy sketching and coordinating landscapers to measure and quote, ngā tamariki have been taking a more “hands-on” approach to the construction site. Ngā tamariki decorated their own ‘portacom’ and assumed roles such as foreman, designers, builders and architects.
This is true mahi-tahi ‘working together’ in action: a team project where kaiako and tamariki are in for the journey! Watch this space!!
