Kia orana anau, today is the start of the National Cook Island Week 2019 – Taku rama, taau toi, ora te reo (my torch, your adze, our language lives).
Central Arohanui in Tokoroa attended a Ei katu workshop at the South Waikato District Council organised by SWPICS.
The tamariki enjoyed the workshop, admiring all the beautiful Ei that were being made. We learnt about the history of the Ei and how they are made in the Cook Islands with real flowers, which smell so beautiful.
On the way home we called into a few shops to purchase resources so we can make our own Ei at kindergarten.
