News for Central Kids Edgecumbe

Our whānau, in conjunction with EastBay REAP and Coastcare NZ spent our morning planting dunes at our local beach.  We aim to do this mahi annually, and invest in environmental care.

Our Matariki focuses around conservation and manaakitanga.  We had full support from our whānau, with over 20 adults joining us to plant Hinerupe and Pingao.  Once we were done, we had a quick clean up of the beach area and discussion about looking after our environment.

Once back at kindergarten we had our hakari.  Kai filled our kitchen and we are still trying to get through it!  We even made pumpkin soup from a pumpkin donated by one of our parents!  We are continuing to gain strength from one another as we restore our community.
