Yesterday the children had a fantastic time doing some adventurous risk taking, jumping off the retaining wall onto safety fall mats.
They spent quite some time there taking turns to jump. They all displayed wonderful social skills as they chatted to each other, showed respect for others turns and consideration to ensure they and others remained safe.
This experience really allowed the children to further develop these skills as well as gain valuable knowledge about what they can do and how to do it safely. This was a great adventure for some children and for others it was very daunting, so they watched on gaining knowledge from observing others. Maybe next time they will be ready to give it a go.
Here is a quote that fits perfectly…..
"The more risks you allow children to make, the better they learn to take care of themselves". – Roald Dahl
