It’s beautiful to head off on our weekly hikoi expeditions into our stunning community, to maintain our relationships with the Tairua library, residential care, Flock Cafe and the local 4 square for iceblock treats on the way home!
The names of our two hikoi groups are named after clusters of Pohutukawa in Tairua named by tangata whenua.
Manu mahana-a warm place for birds: located on the edges of the Pepe inlet;
Pakete whero-A pocket of red: located 50m out of town next to the Tairua jandal sign.
Our wonderfully supportive whānau volunteer their time to ensure tamariki can get out and about each week. Nui te aroha whānau ♥️.
