The time has come to return to work, to learn, to play with our friends, with our Kaiako as well. This is a wonderful time for the Charles Family to come together as one, to get to know one another again after COVID-19 Lockdown.
It is a happy time for tamariki to bring their whānau in to their place of learning. Our thoughts are with the whānau who have lost someone this year, we send them love from us to them all. We turn to now, a great time for us all, and thinking about the health of our people here in New Zealand. As the time goes, we take care of each other and ourselves.
Charles Kindergarten had a pyjama day with parakuihi breakfast inviting all the whānau. Kai Hākari o Matariki – ngā mihi to Whānau Brown for the kai cooker loan, and Whānau Jefferies for helping to support Kaimahi with the kai preparation, and a huge mihi of appreciation to all those who koha kai for this big event and attended to celebrate each other. There was a little knowledge about Matariki and the meaning for Māori, a little sparkler to go with the night as Matariki shown down upon us from ranginui with Marama.
Tamariki Mokopuna explore mana aotuuroa the Tūārangi Universe, and its star inhabitants, learning about their position, their meaning, and their significance to us here in Aotearoa New Zealand. Whakawhanaungatanga – getting to know other’s and each other through the wonderful medium of eating together.
After COVID-19 Level 4, Charles Kindergarten with the help of Love Soup, TCOSS Tokoroa Council of Social Services, we had ample milk, food parcels for our whānau. Raukawa Trust Board, our local Iwi authority, also delivered Hygiene packs to tautoko support whānau in their combat to stay healthy during these unusual times of international impact illness. Charles Kindergarten say “Kia Ora!!!” to these local services to ensure that we in turn were able to support tamariki me ōna whānau during these times.
We are back into the swing of things after Level 4-2 Covid-19 lockdown and enjoying Matariki in its finest, with a cleared out storage area, almost finished our Winter cleaning in the kindergarten ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. This Matariki has included ensuring that we are taking care of one another, and that we are all looking after ourselves. Awhi Mai, Awhi Atu, Aroha Mai, Aroha Atu… Ngā mihi mahana Team Charles…
