Over the month of June, we celebrated Matariki. We had Whaea Lena come from Firth Primary to teach the children how to make putiputi, whetū and bows. Firth primary came and sung waiata to our tamariki and we also gave woven putiputi as a koha to them.
On the 28th June we celebrated Matariki. The children helped prepare our vegetables to cook in our kai cooker. We enjoyed decorating and eating whetū shaped biscuits. In the afternoon we served the kai for whānau to enjoy with their children. Then at the end of the session we let balloons with messages of past and future wishes go. It was a wonderful day celebrated with all.
