Paper for Tree’s initiative at Central Kids Garaway

Paper for Tree’s initiative at Central Kids Garaway

Over the past year, Central Kids Garaway have been recycling scrap paper through the Paper for Tree’s initiative.

At the end of term two, some lovely tree’s arrived for planting in our garden.  On a rainy day, Michele and Toni, ngā Kaiako and a group of children set about planting these.

We had to work out, what the trees were?  And how big would they grow?  To find the ideal spots to plant these trees.  As we were working, Toni noticed a ‘watcher’ high up in the branches of a tree, a beautiful Kereru was watching us at work!  I wonder if in time, our tree’s will provide food and shelter for this beautiful manu?
