Kia ora, my name is Andrea Reed and I am a teacher with over 15 years’ experience working with children aged 0-5 years in both the UK and New Zealand.
I have a Bachelor of Teaching Degree and Graduate Diploma and I am passionate about inclusive, respectful and responsive practices. I believe in supporting children’s social and emotional well-being, developing a sense of belonging and creating a learning culture where every child feels valued and takes an active role in their own learning.
I strongly believe it takes a village to raise a child and take great pride in developing positive and authentic relationships with children, parents, whānau, teachers and wider community.
I believe in the importance of connecting children with nature and the awe and wonder it delivers. I believe children should be active in their roles as guardians and develop a sense of respect and appreciation for all living things and places.
As well as being a teacher I am blessed with being a mother to my daughter Willow, aged 4 and son Hudson, aged 2. We have recently moved down to Cambridge and look forward to exploring all of the Waikato area.
I am very excited to be joining the Rāwhiti Kindergarten team and I can’t wait to meet you all and work alongside you.
