Earlier in July, Central Kids Rotorua East Kindergarten celebrated Matariki with a shared kai for all of our whānau.
After everyone had arrived, the majority of our tamariki stood up on the deck and sung us a few waiata and showed us how they kanikani. After many cheers and claps we headed inside to watch a short video clip which told us a child friendly version of the Matariki stars. Our children sat on the mat intrigued with the video whilst our parents all stood and watched from the back.
Afterwards, we said karakia, then tucked into some pretty awesome kai, it was a great evening for all involved. It was lovely to see all our whānau mingling with each other engaging in friendly conversation.
