Spring has finally come, and what a better way to celebrate than to prepare our little gardens that have been collected and donated by whānau and staff.
After a lot of discussion and consideration, tamariki chose the plants that they wanted to plant here at kindergarten – how exciting! Lettuces, tomatoes, radish’s and watermelon are just a few of the delicious plants they have chosen to grow. These will be shared with friends and family at harvest time.
We are so lucky to have so many interested and keen young gardeners here at Mercury Bay, with quite a few tamariki also having their own gardens at home. We can’t wait to see our plants sprout and to enjoy the fruits of our labor this summer.
