The tamariki of Central Kids Te Akoranga Kindergarten in Kawerau received a delivery of boxes which caught their attention and came over to explore the contents of the boxes! They are always excited to see what is inside, it’s just like unwrapping a present.
The tamariki saw traditional Māori clothing and couldn’t wait to get dressed up! In the box, was also a range of other resources including a wooden marae scene, board games, games, puzzles, books and posters. These resources support our children’s interest, and they experience the symbols of their own and other cultures (Te Whāriki). The below whakataukī acknowledges working collaboratively, together with each other’s support our children will succeed and thrive.
Nau te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi – your food basket and my food basket will feed the people.
So, thank you Jacqui & Robyn from Central Kids Head Office for the Te reo resource kits. These were kindly funded by the Community Capability and Resilience Fund, Central Kids Head Office and our Te Akoranga operational budget.
