The delicious smell of keke panana drifted through kindergarten today!
We very gratefully received bunches of panana from Friendship House Huntly Community Charitable Trust. After eating many fresh we decided to get creative in the kitchen. The tamariki had spent the ahiahi mixing, scooping, and measuring all the ingredients, including mashing the panana. It was a wonderfully rich learning experience, with the added treat of warm keke panana to enjoy! The tamariki excitedly waited as the delicious smell emerged from the oven… and then it was finally time to sit together and eat.
It is said a smile tells a thousand words, and we certainly saw many smiles as the tamariki enjoyed their yummy baking creations!
