We would like to thank Trustpower Heartlands for the generous grant that we received this year. Your contribution has enabled us to further develop our nature discovery area in our outdoor environment by building a boardwalk.
Our ethos at Central Kids Paraone kindergarten ‘Rapua nga muka o te matauranga, Hei oranga pai rawa mo te katoa/ Out in the elements we will thrive’ supports and acknowledges the importance of being outdoors and in our natural environment. The boardwalk has been built as a part of our wider plans and it will soon be complemented with the development of native gardens and rock features.
We are an Enviro school which encourages learning that is based on ecological principals and diverse ideas that are designed to carry out sustainable actions for the environment. Our tamariki have embraced the new structure and we have observed them using it in their play such as; a prop for singing and going on many amazing learning adventures that are driven by their imagination and ability to make sense of their worlds. The tamariki and their whānau are delighted with our continuing progress and are excited to see the changes in our outdoor environment when they visit the kindergarten. We understand that without having access to grants many of our ideas are unable to come to fruition so once again thank you. Included are some photos of the boardwalk with the tamariki and kaiako.
