Kia orana koutou katotoa!
Here at Central Kids Tokoroa ELC we created tivaevae (Cook Islands bedspread) and ei katu (flower garlands) using paper. The tivaevae and ei katu were displayed for children to look at for inspiration.
Tivaevae is an art form that the Cook Island woman are taught from a young age, tivaevae are gifted at special occasions such as weddings, 21st birthdays and hair cutting ceremonies.
We finished celebrating Cook Island Language Week with a yummy kaikai.
