Our learning environment is thoughtfully designed using natural materials and loose parts, supporting creativity, problem-solving, and imagination. Tamariki are encouraged to follow their interests, take risks, and build confidence in ways that are meaningful to them.
Our natural outdoor environment is an important part of daily life at Arohanui. With real grass underfoot and open-ended spaces to explore, tamariki are supported to move freely, take physical risks, and experience grounding through connection with Papatūānuku. This connection supports hauora, resilience, and a sense of calm alongside physical development.
Wellbeing is central to our practice. Through our participation in the KidsCan programme, we provide healthy hot kai each day, supporting tamariki to feel nourished.
Our kaiako work collaboratively as a teaching team, guided by Te Whāriki and committed to inclusive, responsive, and relationship-based practice. We value strong partnerships with whānau, recognising that learning is strongest when nurtured together.
Nau mai, haere mai — our door is always open. We warmly invite you to come and experience Arohanui Kindergarten for yourself.
