We have a large playground area that is available to tamariki at all times. Provision of wet weather gear enables access to the outside environment regardless of the conditions. Nature is strongly valued and nurtured – kaitiakitanga is encouraged through projects including growing sunflowers and gardens, worm farms and regular plantings.
Community connections are important to us and we make regular excursions with groups of tamariki to the ngahere ( bush), marae, library and community gardens. We have a whānau room in the kindergarten that is used for a variety of early childhood services, including speech and language therapy, TCOSS, hearing and vision testing or any other need that requires a quiet room and a friendly environment.
Whānau involvement is encouraged prior to tamariki starting kindergarten and often lasts long after tamariki have left. We believe transition to school is very important and our kaiako support this very exciting time through firm connections with new entrant teachers.
David Henry Kindergarten provides kai for all tamariki in partnership with KidsCan, as part of the KidsCan ECE Food for Kids programme.
Nau mai haere mai, we welcome you to visit our kindergarten any time.

"If you’re looking for a home away from home for your little one, David Henry Kindergarten is the place to go. From the moment you walk through the gates you get a sense of home. The kaiako are very welcoming, kind and friendly. The outdoor space has been amazing for our adventurous little guy - very spacious, lots of real grass and equipment to challenge and explore. Would highly recommend checking them out."
