Northwood Kindergarten is a place of discovery with many areas for tamariki to explore and learn. Situated in the quiet Nukuhau suburban area of Taupō, overlooking Taupō nui a Tia (Lake Taupo). Breathtaking views of ngā maunga, Tongariro, Ngāuruhoe, Ruapehu and Tauhara create a fantastic backdrop to our kindergarten.

At Northwood Kindergarten we foster a community of lifelong learners. Qualified, registered and passionate kaiako nurture and facilitate a love of learning. We value learning dispositions such as rekareka (fun and happiness), māna māia (confidence), māna hautoa (courage), ū tonu tanga (perseverance) and whaka ae tika (trust), where tamariki are encouraged to be drivers of their own learning.

Our centre is well resourced and provides many opportunities for tamariki to learn through play. We are also privileged to back on to the incredible Brentwood Reserve gully. Our tamariki have weekly excursions to explore, lead their learning and let their creativity and imagination run wild in the wild. The natural world has endless opportunities to build, create, play and learn.
