Our kindergarten is guided by Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s unique bicultural early childhood curriculum that champions inclusiveness and holistic development. Play is at the heart of everything we do, creating an exciting, meaningful and fun learning journey for your tamaiti.
Our spacious outdoor environment is designed to inspire curiosity and autonomy. Our outdoor environment is the largest in the local area, offering tamariki exceptional space to explore, play and connect with nature in a safe, stimulating setting.
We are deeply committed to the values of whanaungatanga (relationships), manaakitanga (care and respect) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship), which are the cornerstones of our vision and philosophy. These values foster a strong sense of place and identity, deeply rooted in mana whenua.
Te reo Māori is woven into the fabric of our daily practices and interactions. It is not only seen in our environment through signage and resources, but is also heard regularly in our conversations, waiata and karakia. We are proud to create an immersive, bilingual experience that supports the revitalisation of te reo Māori and enriches the cultural identity of all our tamariki.
Our tamariki benefit from regular, enriching excursions in and around the Taumarunui community. This promotes place-based learning and strengthens their connection to the world around them. Our kaiako and tamariki work together in purposeful hui, following tikanga processes, to plan and make the most of these community experiences.
We warmly welcome new whānau to visit and experience the unique and vibrant community of Paraone Kindergarten. Come and see how we can help your tamaiti thrive!
Nau mai, haere mai, we look forward to welcoming you.
