Relationships are important to us and we aim to provide a welcoming, respectful and inclusive envirionment. We welcome parent participation and value the partnership between kindergarten and whānau. Our goal is to create a sense of whanaungatanga and connectedness between our tamariki, whānau, kaiako and the wider Matamata community.
Our kindergarten is well resourced, with a large outdoor grassed space and lots of opportunities for tamariki to challenge themselves and explore things of interest to them. We value play and exploration as important ways to learn, alongside making connections with people, places and things around us. We embrace learning through te taio (the outdoors) and we encourage our tamariki to become champions for sustainable practices at kindergarten and at home.
Using the Te Whāriki early learning curriculum as a framework for our programme, we weave in opportunities for tamariki to develop confidence and competence in learning how to care for themselves and our kindergarten, to feel a sense of belonging, to understand how things happen at kindergarten, to make connections and friendships with others, develop positive pro-social skills, to contribute, and to delight in exploring and investigating the world around them.
Our team is focused on weaving our kupu taurangi (pledge) to our tamariki and whānau through everything that happens at our kindergarten.
We see you. We hear you. We know you.
We embrace you for the unique individual you are.
It would be our privilege to partner with your whānau to support your tamaiti through their early learning journey.
Nau mai haere mai, come on in to meet us and find out what our kindergarten has to offer.
