Rewi Street Kindergarten

A hidden gem tucked away off the road in central Te Awamutu.

Rewi Street Kindergarten is a hidden gem, tucked away off the road in central Te Awamutu.

We welcome tamariki from 2-6 years of age at our warm and welcoming kindergarten, where we prioritise manaakitanga, rangatiratanga and kaitiakitanga in our daily practices.

It is important to us that people feel they belong and enjoy their time at Rewi Street Kindergarten and we encourage fun and laughter throughout the day.

Leadership and responsibility are shared amongst everyone in our learning community. Tamariki are trusted to lead their own learning, to take risks and to follow their strengths and interests.

As a community of learners we encourage and support each other to learn skills which empower tamariki to develop social competence along with problem solving skills within a safe environment.

Learning experiences in the natural environment strengthen our relationships with Papatūānuku and develop our ecological identity. Together, we are creating a māra kai (edible garden) to share with whānau.

The best kindy

"The best kindy, my kids love(d) it. Wonderful teachers and relievers, and the space is sooo beautifully laid out, well equipped with excellent facilities. The outside area is a huge highlight for my boy especially! I love the availability and options for art, creating, building, problem solving and independence. My eldest settled in well after moving town and kindy, when he was three, and my youngest slotted right in from the get go. Everyone there is super supportive, and amidst some life changes for my little family, they have all been incredibly understanding and done everything they can to help and make things that bit easier. I couldn't recommend more highly, thank you to everyone at Rewi Street."
