Taumarunui Early Learning Centre

Taumarunui Early Learning Centre has a vibrant community of kaiako, support staff, tamariki and whānau. We are located near the town centre, easily accessible to the wider Taumarunui community as well as those who live in town.

Our experienced teaching team is passionate about tamariki. Our holistic programme supports tamariki to learn, grow and develop in all areas – cultural, cognitive, social, emotional and physical.

We cater for tamariki from 0-6 years of age. We are a very warm, responsive, welcoming, friendly and inclusive centre. Our team works hard to ensure your tamariki have a home away from home experience of high-quality care and education while they are with us.

We have a very large outdoor play area that allows tamariki lots of space to enjoy a wide range of activities and experiences.

Our planning and assessment builds on the belief of tamariki in themselves as ‘learners’, and having a learner identity. We weave the local curriculum into our day, reflecting the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa and the diverse cultures of our tamariki and whānau.

We support tamariki to learn about caring for our natural environment. We have our own chickens, compost and veggie gardens, and are part of the Paper for Trees recycling programme.
