The Habits of Mind framework, in conjunction with Te Whāriki early childhood curriculum, supports tamariki growing dispositions as lifelong learners. Tamariki are encouraged to solve problems and develop their skills in social and emotional competence, while kaiako work alongside offering encouragement and support with strategies and role modelling expectations.
The kindergarten learning environment is purposefully arranged to allow tamariki greater opportunities for uninterrupted work and play.
We have an awesome indoor and outdoor environment, including a māra kai (food garden) and bike track to challenge our tamariki. We are all about play and having lots of fun together.
Kaiako are committed to showing respect for our culture, te ao Māori and growing skills in this area for themselves and the learning community. We care for our environment and work alongside whānau and tamariki to provide the best possible early childhood education experience.
Nau mai here mai, we welcome you to visit us any time. Bring your tamariki for a look around our play areas too, they'll love it!

"We moved our daughter to Te Ara Mātauranga Kindergarten eight months ago. She has done nothing but grow and thrive since we made the change. The amazing teachers and support staff do everything they can to foster your wants and needs for your child's learning. The centre is so warm and inviting, you'll always find that the jug is hot, staff are having a laugh/play with kids (even a dance), and the speaker is playing in the background. I couldn't ask for more as a mum."
