Our team of experienced kaiako are passionate about teaching and learning, with a special interest in a heart-based approach within an early learning environment that encourages exploration.
We have a strong focus on supporting our tamariki to care for the environment and connect with nature, through weekly trips to the ngahere (bush) for small groups of older tamariki, and an ongoing relationship with Greening Taupō.
Community connections are important to us, and we have a close relationship with Waipāhīhī Primary School, including regular visits and bike days at the school.
Teaching and learning at Waipāhīhī is guided by New Zealand’s bicultural early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki. We are proud to have strong relationships with local whānau, who support our programme at kindergarten wholeheartedly.
We welcome visitors to our kindergarten and you are welcome to call in for a play with your tamaiti any time.
Nau mai haere mai, we’d love to meet you and show you what our kindergarten has to offer.

"Waipāhīhī Kindergarten has such a lovely, happy, safe and nurturing environment. The teachers are great and the staff are super helpful and responsive to any needs or requests. Nice big outdoor play area. Have had two very happy kids progress through this kindy!"
