Tamariki with additional needs

Central Kids supports tamariki with additional learning support needs.

Central Kids supports tamariki with additional learning support needs, whether physical, behavioural, neurodiverse, developmental delay or child protection related.

Our early learning services have an important role in identifying tamariki with additional learning support needs, whether physical, behavioural, neurodiverse, developmental delay or child protection related.

Early identification and intervention is important to achieve the best outcomes for tamariki, and our kaiako have training and support to ensure this happens. If you have any concerns about your tamariki please talk to us so that we can help. When needed we are able to support and coordinate referral to external agencies.

Tamariki with identified additional needs will have an individual learning plan, so that all kaiako understand their needs and how to best meet them. When necessary, we will seek funding for kaiako tautāwhi (teacher aide) support to ensure tamariki with additional needs receive the one on one attention they need.

We strive to build strong, supportive and reciprocal relationships with whānau, so that together we can work as a team to effectively support your tamariki in our early learning environments.

There are many resources available for whānau who have tamariki with additional needs, and our kaiako are also a wealth of knowledge, you just need to ask.
