Respect, manaakitanga and inclusion underpin our philosophy at Central Kids Rewi Street, situated in the rural township of Te Awamutu. We offer a programme that encourages children to think, to ask questions, to take risks, to discover and to grow, through following their strengths and interests.
Our objective is to provide high quality early childhood education where children have opportunities to develop and strengthen dispositions for learning that are not isolated, but connected, that reach across the child’s life, family/whānau, culture and wider world, and serve as a foundation for life-long learning.
We are transforming part of our outdoor area, regenerating a native bush environment. Learning experiences ‘out the gate’ help children grow into their role as kaitiaki, strengthening their relationship with Papatūānuku and developing their ecological identity. They also provide opportunities for exploration, thinking and developing working theories about the natural world.
