Morrinsville Early Learning Centre is a mixed aged centre in the heart of Morrinsville township. Our centre philosophy is based on our whānau care system. This is where a teacher builds a special connection with your child and family to support them through their day and overall early childhood journey.
We have strong connections with our wider Morrinsville community. One way we do this is by attending Toddler Time at the Morrinsville Library each week, where we take a small group of children who engage in songs, dance and story time. We also have regular visits to Kingswood retirement village where our children enjoy joining the residents for fun activities such as face painting, singing dancing and talking with our Grandfriends. Throughout the year we also visit local shops, parks and community events.
Our centre practice is embedded in learning through play. We have an unstructured day to allow our children to be engaged in deep learning through their own play choices. Together with your whānau carer your child will be supported to continue following their own daily rhythms like they do with you at home.
At Morrinsville Early Learning Centre children learn about sustainable practices as a part of our everyday programme, for example where rubbish goes, composting, worm farming, sharing through our giving table and food harvesting from our trees. All of this supports our efforts as an Enviroschools centre and our Healthy Heart journey.
